Selections are now open for residency scholarships to participate in the Booklab of the Year / Sustainability Award, a special program dedicated to undergraduate students of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees who will be able to participate in meetings with the authors nominated for the Award and become part of the Jury of Readers that will decide the winner. The Book of the Year / Sustainability Award aims to encourage editorial productions, with particular attention to the quality of writing, that recount and analyze the world of the Green Economy, both from the aspect of climate-related issues and more specifically the themes of energy, fashion, food, technologies, mobility, infrastructure and living, pollution, land consumption and social sustainability. The Award aims to foster cultural growth by promoting a modern culture of sustainability capable of stimulating the development of the Italian industrial fabric. The Book of the Year / Sustainability Award is promoted by ItalyPost and The Economy of the Corriere della Sera. Students who will participate in the Business Literature Prize BooKlab:

  • receiveyear i books candidates in format digital
  • Will participate in meetings with thefinalist authors as part of Green Week-Festival of the Green Economy (May 5-7, 2023)
  • will become part of the Readers’ Jury that will decide the winning book
  • will also be able to take part in the meetings scheduled for Green Week (the schedule is being finalized and will be posted this site in the coming weeks).

Scholarships to attend BookLab of the Year / Sustainability Award BookLab.

The Prize looks with particular attention to the involvement of young people from Italian universities, to whom it intends to offer a unique opportunity for meeting, exchange and training. To this end, the organization is offering a select number of university students the opportunity to apply for residence grants to access the BookLab of the Premio Letteratura d’Impresa. The deadline to send in your application is Sunday, April 9, 2023.

Book of the Year Award / Sustainability

The Award aims to encourage editorial productions, with particular attention to the quality of the writing, that recount and analyze the world of the Green Economy, both from the aspect of climate-related issues, and more specifically the themes of energy, fashion, food, technologies, mobility, infrastructure and living, pollution, land consumption and social sustainability. The Prize aims to foster cultural growth by promoting a modern culture of sustainability capable of stimulating the development of the Italian industrial fabric. The 5 finalist books of the 2023 edition of the Prize will be selected by the Scientific Jury. The winning book will then be decreed by the Jury of Readers – composed of 100 students, undergraduates and doctoral students from relevant faculties and 100 among entrepreneurs, managers and representatives of trade associations.

Jury of Readers

Applications are now open to join the Jury of Readers, which will be called upon to participate in the vote to declare the winners of the Green Book Prize on May 6, 2023 in Parma. Each year the Prize’s Management appoints a Jury of Readers composed of 200 members including entrepreneurs, professors, representatives of trade associations and research institutes, and young undergraduates from faculties relevant to the Prize’s themes, who meet the criteria of geographic distribution and quotas of belonging to a professional and disciplinary field identified by the Scientific Jury. By applying to be a member of the Readers’ Jury, you will receive the five finalist volumes of the Green Book Prize in electronic format for evaluation, be able to take part in meetings with the authors who will present the five finalist books at the Festival of Green Economy, May 5-7 in Parma, and in all scheduled debates. The book presentation meetings with the finalists will be held on the afternoon of Friday, May 5, and the morning of Saturday, May 6, 2023. The Readers’ Jury will be asked to participate in an in-person vote in Parma on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 3 p.m. to declare the winner of this First Edition of the Green Book Prize. Green Week – Festival of the Green Economy

Since 2011, Green Week has been an event that addresses issues related to the green economy. The event is divided into two parts: during the first three days, it is divided into a tour to discover the “Factories of Sustainability.” Then it will come to Parma for the Festival of the Green Economy, an event featuring leading figures from the economy, finance, and institutions attentive to sustainability issues.

Benefits for BookLab participants

The Prize BookLab provides 100 living grants that include:

  • Preferential access and reserved seats at the Prize events, with the possibility of direct dialogue with the speakers at the end of the meetings, in particular:
    • presentation of the finalist books (Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6, 2023)
    • award ceremony (Saturday, May 6, 2023)
  • accommodation in multiple rooms (triple/quadruple) in contracted facilities for the entire duration of the stay (nights of Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6, 2023);
  • Fixed menu lunches and dinners in facilities that will be indicated by the organization;
  • Transfers from hotel facilities to Festival venues (where necessary);

The living scholarships cover 50 percent of the organization costs. To confirm their participation in the event, students selected for the living grant are required to pay a participation fee of 240 euros. Travel expenses to and from Parma are the responsibility of the selected students. At the end of the event, and only upon actual participation in 80 percent of the scheduled appointments, an official certificate of participation will be issued.

All students who confirm participation will be given a voucher worth 120 euros to request books, freely chosen on the basis of their interests by each individual participant, from an extensive list of titles both related to business culture topics and general topics useful for the participants’ specialized training.

How to apply for the living grant

The Prize BookLab is making 100 residency grants available to interested parties. To apply, simply fill out the form available by clicking here by April 9, 2023. The selected students are expected to follow the program of events that will be defined by the organization and to actively take part in the activities scheduled during the two-day event. Applications will be selected at the sole discretion of the event’s organizational management; applications will be selected and approved weekly until all available places are filled. Our staff will provide the selected students with all information regarding board, lodging and the schedule of appointments, and will communicate how to make the payment of the participation fee.

COVID 19

The Award organization reports that:

  • the event will take place live and ensure compliance with the social distancing and health safety rules provided by the authorities on the dates of the Award;
  • should the event be cancelled by the authorities due to force majeure beyond the organization’s control, a full refund of the participation fee is guaranteed; see the “Terms of Participation” on this page for more information.
